Vincent van Gogh was a famous painter from the Netherlands. He was born in Groot-Zundert in the Netherlands on March 30, 1853. Vincent van Gogh was a son of a pastor and was brought up in a religious and cultured atmosphere.

Vincent van Gogh was highly emotional and lacked self-confidence. Between the years of 1860 and 1880 he finally decided to become an artist. In the meantime Vincent van Gogh had two unhappy romances and had worked unsuccessfully as a clerk in a bookstore, a preacher and as an art salesman.
