Frequently asked questions
Are your paintings hand-painted or printed?
All our Van Gogh reproductions are hand-painted in oil on canvas. You will not only see, but also feel and smell the brush strokes. Just like the original Van Gogh paintings.
What are your delivery times?
When the painting you want to order is in stock ("Now in Stock" mentioned where you select size) we usually send it the day after your order and estimated delivery outside of Europe by DHL is 3-4 days later.

Please view the Van Gogh reproductions in stock by clicking here.

When the painting of your choice is not in stock, delivery usually takes 6 - 7 weeks.
Do the paintings come framed?
No, we send the paintings rolled in a hard plastic tube for maximum protection. To ship frames would also be very expensive and there is more chance of damage. We do have a selection of small paintings with antique frames.

This video may help to select the right frame at your local framer.
Can we visit Van Gogh Studio in Amsterdam?
We don't have a gallery at the moment. But you are welcome at Bistrot Neuf at Haarlemmerstraat 9 in Amsterdam for a Van Gogh Menu lunch. During lunch, hand-painted replicas by Van Gogh Studio hang on the walls around you.

Product description

Two Crabs replica in oil on canvas

Van Gogh Studio is located in Amsterdam, near the Van Gogh museum where we can study the original works. Our paintings are all painted in oil on canvas by mainly Dutch artists who have studied Van Gogh's technique, including brushstrokes, color mixing, atmosphere and the rhythm of painting.

Released from the hospital in Arles

It is highly probable that this stunning artwork was painted just after Van Gogh was released from the hospital in Arles in January 1889. Van Gogh was brimming with enthusiasm and eager to begin painting again. He expressed his eagerness to his brother Theo on January 7th, stating that he planned to start by creating one or two still life paintings.

Hokusai woodcut

It's worth noting that he may have also been inspired by a captivating Hokusai woodcut titled 'Crabs' that was published in the May 1888 edition of 'Le Japon Artistique', which Theo had thoughtfully sent to Vincent in September of that year.

The original Van Gogh painting resides in the National Gallery of London on loan from a private collector. Why settle for a poster when you can beautify any interior with an affordable oil painting? Also the orange in the painting can enhance the colors in your interior.

We're confident you'll love this reproduced Van Gogh masterpiece, but if you're not 100% satisfied, we offer a full money-back guarantee.

I have received numerous compliments on the painting, with many people mistaking it for the original. It has become the centerpiece of my living room, and I am grateful to have such a beautiful piece of art in my home.
