Men Unloading Coal Barges framed Van Gogh reproduction, hand-painted in oil on canvas
Today I saw that same coal-boat again, with workers unloading it, that I’ve already told you about; in the same place as the sand-boats, of which I’ve sent you a drawing. It would be a grand subject.

Frequently asked questions
- Are your paintings hand-painted or printed?
- All our Van Gogh reproductions are hand-painted in oil on canvas. You will not only see, but also feel and smell the brush strokes. Just like the original Van Gogh paintings.
- What are your delivery times?
- When the painting you want to order is in stock ("Now in Stock" mentioned where you select size) we usually send it the day after your order and estimated delivery outside of Europe by DHL is 3-4 days later.
Please view the Van Gogh reproductions in stock by clicking here.
When the painting of your choice is not in stock, delivery usually takes 6 - 7 weeks.
- Do the paintings come framed?
- No, we send the paintings rolled in a hard plastic tube for maximum protection. To ship frames would also be very expensive and there is more chance of damage. We do have a selection of small paintings with antique frames.
This video may help to select the right frame at your local framer.
- Can we visit Van Gogh Studio in Amsterdam?
- We don't have a gallery at the moment. But you are welcome at Bistrot Neuf at Haarlemmerstraat 9 in Amsterdam for a Van Gogh Menu lunch. During lunch, hand-painted replicas by Van Gogh Studio hang on the walls around you.

Product description
Vincent van Gogh was so much ahead of his time when he lived in Arles in 1888. This painting is a good example of that, looking at the very powerful colors. Also the relatively simple scenery and the thick brushstrokes to evoke emotions were very much post-impressionistic. Vincent had chosen his own creative path that would make him famous. Just not during his lifetime.
"Only I’m beginning more and more to look for a simple technique that perhaps isn’t Impressionist. I’d like to paint in such a way that if it comes to it, everyone who has eyes could understand it.”
We were very happy to find this 70-year-old Dutch frame on an auction. The grey tones make the colors of the painting even more powerful. And the feather like decorations have some green in it that highlight the greens in the painting. One of those lucky days where 1 + 1 = 3.
The wooden/plaster frame is in very good condition with just some very minor signs of ageing. Unless you live in Madrid near the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum you won’t have the chance to see the original painting everyday. This beautifully framed replica is probably your best alternative.
Frame size: 57 x 47 cm / 22.4 x 18.5 inch
Painting size: 28,5 x 38,5 cm / 11.2 x 15.1 inch
