Frequently asked questions
- Are your paintings hand-painted or printed?
- All our Van Gogh reproductions are hand-painted in oil on canvas. You will not only see, but also feel and smell the brush strokes. Just like the original Van Gogh paintings.
- What are your delivery times?
- When the painting you want to order is in stock ("Now in Stock" mentioned where you select size) we usually send it the day after your order and estimated delivery outside of Europe by DHL is 3-4 days later.
Please view the Van Gogh reproductions in stock by clicking here.
When the painting of your choice is not in stock, delivery usually takes 6 - 7 weeks.
- Do the paintings come framed?
- No, we send the paintings rolled in a hard plastic tube for maximum protection. To ship frames would also be very expensive and there is more chance of damage. We do have a selection of smaller paintings with antique frames.

- Can we visit Van Gogh Studio in Amsterdam?
- We don't have a gallery at the moment. But you are welcome at Bistrot Neuf at Haarlemmerstraat 9 in Amsterdam for a Van Gogh Menu lunch. During lunch, hand-painted replicas by Van Gogh Studio hang on the walls around you.

About this painting
Beauty in Passing
This striking early 19th-century French frame, in the Louis XIV style, brings a very different character to Van Gogh’s Sunflowers. Richly ornamented with acanthus leaves and sculptural relief, it carries a sense of grandeur and history that transforms the painting into a true centrepiece. This version of Sunflowers, now in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, was painted in Arles in January 1889. Compared to the earlier, more radiant summer versions, this painting feels more introspective. The flowers are fuller, heavier, some already fading. The yellows are deeper and more earthy, and the overall mood is quieter, almost reflective. It is not just a celebration of life, but also a subtle meditation on time passing.
1800-1850 baroque frame
That is where this baroque frame becomes so powerful. Rather than simply supporting the painting, it amplifies its emotional weight. The richness of the gold contrasts beautifully with the vulnerability of the flowers, creating a tension between splendour and transience. The gilded surface catches the light in a way that enhances the ochres, ambers, and darker yellows of the bouquet. At the same time, the depth and ornamentation of the frame give the composition a sense of importance and presence, as if the painting has stepped into a more timeless, almost classical world.
