Product description
Cafe Terrace Vincent van Gogh replica
Van Gogh is often celebrated for his rural scenes—the sunflowers, the olive groves, the golden wheat fields. But in Café Terrace at Night, painted in Arles on September 16, 1888, he turned his attention to the city. Stepping into the evening buzz of town life, he set up his easel right on the cobbled square, captivated by the glow of the café lights and the energy of a starry night. It was one of the first times Van Gogh painted the night sky, and he did so without using black. Instead, he filled the canvas with deep blues, greens, and brilliant yellows. In a letter to his sister, he described the scene’s unusual harmony and richness. The painting was completed outdoors, quickly, with confident brushstrokes that captured not just what he saw, but what he felt—the warmth of light, the joy of people gathering, the quiet poetry of an evening shared.
Early 20th century Italian frame
Our hand-painted oil-on-canvas replica brings that same emotion into the present. Framed in a beautifully restored Italian frame from the early 20th century, the ornate gold finish contrasts the cool night tones and intensifies the golden glow of the café. The craftsmanship of the frame echoes the elegance of the painting itself.Painting size: 49.2 x 37.5 cm / 19.4 x 14.8 inch
Frame size: 69 x 58 cm / 27.2 x 22.8 inch
