Frequently asked questions
Are your paintings hand-painted or printed?
All our Van Gogh reproductions are hand-painted in oil on canvas. You will not only see, but also feel and smell the brush strokes. Just like the original Van Gogh paintings.
What are your delivery times?
When the painting you want to order is in stock ("Now in Stock" mentioned where you select size) we usually send it the day after your order and estimated delivery outside of Europe by DHL is 3-4 days later.

Please view the Van Gogh reproductions in stock by clicking here.

When the painting of your choice is not in stock, delivery usually takes 6 - 7 weeks.
Do the paintings come framed?
No, we send the paintings rolled in a hard plastic tube for maximum protection. To ship frames would also be very expensive and there is more chance of damage. We do have a selection of smaller paintings with antique frames.

This video may help to select the right frame at your local framer.
Can we visit Van Gogh Studio in Amsterdam?
We don't have a gallery at the moment. But you are welcome at Bistrot Neuf at Haarlemmerstraat 9 in Amsterdam for a Van Gogh Menu lunch. During lunch, hand-painted replicas by Van Gogh Studio hang on the walls around you.

About this painting

"My wife and I are very happy with the Olive Grove. The thickness of the paint and the detail is amazing. We are thinking of ordering another one from the olive tree series. Best regards Harry and Ann."

Olive Grove replica in oil on canvas

Van Gogh Studio is located in Amsterdam, near the Van Gogh museum where we can study the original works. Our paintings are all painted in oil on canvas by mainly Dutch artists who have studied Van Gogh's technique, including brushstrokes, color mixing, atmosphere and the rhythm of painting.

Refined Yet Bold Approach

Van Gogh brings the same swirling effect to the sky as we see in the windswept grass and leaves below, melding all of the elements into an enchanting whole. There is a unity to all things, brought together by this all-encompassing and intoxicating energy.

Like his friend and fellow painter Paul Gauguin with whom he had recently lived, Van Gogh was seeking to heighten the experience of linear rhythms and colour. He was going beyond realism into the realms of emotional and symbolic expression.

Self-Imposed Exile in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

In the weeks prior to this painting’s creation, Van Gogh had chosen to take up residence in an asylum in provincial France. The calm and order it offered him resulted in some of his greatest masterpieces, of which Olive Groves is certainly one.

This painting was part of the olive tree series, which Van Gogh painted during his supervised sojourns outside the walls of the property.

Seeking the Divine in Nature

Van Gogh felt that it was through nature that he was best able to connect with the metaphysical. In his efforts to depict those aspects he has embraced the symbolic use of colour, here using blues to represent the divine imbuing the olive trees.

His repeating lines of contrasting colours contribute to a pulsating, dreamlike atmosphere.

I bought Olive Grove and Olive Trees with Yellow Sky. And these won’t be the last olive trees I purchased. How cool is it to decorate my house with Van Gogh style olive trees. Vincent loved the trees and painted many. Thanks to Erik and artists I feel like I live in the South of France now.

I ordered three paintings in the Olive Grove series. The colors are amazing and the thick paint is like the original Van Goghs. I am very impressed with the quality and I love the fact that they are painted their original size. All the best from New York – Ben

Dear Erik, I received my second order of 6 Van Gogh paintings yesterday. The first one we already got framed and hung in our living room. And these six will go straight from the framers to my and my wife’s offices.

Once again, I want to compliment the artist for the hard work and you for your excellent service.

Many thanks. İzzet Bütün, İstanbul
